Work carried out: page design and make-up

Although owls are best known for regurgitating the undigestible elements of their diet, the practice occurs in most bird species, ranging from sea birds such as terns and cormorants to garden favourites such as blackbirds and wrens, making this a fascinating book to have worked on.

Not only does the book show the pellets produced by all these different birds, it also details how to identify the remains of the animals consumed. Both the pellets and animal remains are reproduced in the book at life size, which meant careful manual sizing of each photo, and the development of a consistent style of caption placement to accommodate variable image dimensions.
